  1. Kevin, how true are the words you speak. I know because my life has changed because I took one step at a time.
Ebook is finished and aweber is set up,along with paypal, emails and the press release is ready to go. Because of the baby steps. I have completed something I never thought I could do. And I feel Wonderful about the whole learning process.
Thank you for all your great teachings.

  2. Peter Bestel says:

There definitely are very good reasons for choosing a business idea based upon a passion; the drive, commitment and enjoyment you can derive from your business will be unparalleled.

Some say that you can ruin your passion by turning it into a business, and whilst this is very possible, it’s normally the case when you aren’t treating your new venture as a business but still as a hobby.

The planning stage is so often omitted by folk that believe they know how the business is going to run because they are so experienced, so confident of their technical abilities to bake a pizza or cut hair that they rush into a new business.

As a business adviser I’ve helped hundreds of people start businesses and it’s often the case that they put more effort into planning their annual vacation than they do for their new business.

The steps, the baby steps you’re providing Kevin can be invaluable to people - as long as they take heed. You just HAVE to plan before even the first foundation stone is laid for your new venture. I always ask folk, “How long do you want this business for? 5 years, 10 years? No need to rush, take your time and prepare properly, it will pay massive dividends in the long run.

    Peter

  3. Diana Kipka says:

Kevin, much of what you covered with installment #8 I previously acquired in detail through the PCL workshop.

However, I found this segment impelled me to:
    - refocus my attention on the PCL,
    - revisit the steps outlined,
    - fine-tune my planning for a product line and future expansion
    - and most importantly to continue working on the project at hand.

One thing I suffer from, and always have, despite whatever passions are involved, is PROCRASTINATION - I tend to dream rather than do. I see it all in my mind but put off the action part continuously. I pray that following this Manifesto constantly will shatter that horrendous habit - I see it working in steps that I have already taken so I am definitely encouraged that it will happen.

Thanks Kevin for all your generous help…

    Diana

  4. Alyce Mott says:

Kevin, this all appears to be re-enforcing what I’ve already accomplished. I do not mean that as a criticism but it feels like a great validation that I’m on my way in the proper manner - so a huge thank you for this whole series. I’m going to be very interested in the next couple of installments as I move forward with my products and the marketing of them.

I have little or no business experience and thus this series is even more valuable from the standpoint that I finally have a ruler against which I can measure what I’m accomplishing, where I need to focus more effort and how to break it all down to “small steps.” That’s another huge thank you!

  5. Cat says:

A little more financial breathing room would be GREAT! :-)

My goal today was actually to spend the whole day on business planning so this instalment was particularly timely.

Planning out the product line is such good advice and it was something I probably would have forgotten. Thanks heaps for the reminder!

  6. Old Coot says:

I can see where my own product is going wrong. I have always thought that, because many marketers selling off line are really only ripping their clients off using a scheme of smoke, mirrors and unsubstantiated opinion, they would appreciate the knowledge of something that puts money into their pocket AND into the pockets of their clients.
It has been a shock to discover that they really don’t care about their clients - only how much money they can get out of them.
I am passionate about enabling offline businesses to cut costs and have a simple product that not only makes demonstrable savings but also helps find new cash customers. I don’t see how I can add to this product or create a product line because of the uniqueness of the concept.
The market, however, is restricted to those who want to offer a genuine service to their clients - a very small market indeed, apparently.
Ah, well. Back to the drawing board.

  7. John Kane says:

OH Boy! The brick wall is almost all down.
    Baby steps, makes super sense.
Time to rent that movie again, I can use a few giggles.
Thanks again. Looking forward with great
anticipation to what more you’ll have for us!

  8. I have a definite passion for what I am doing now that I plan to make it into a successful info product. I feel this step by step information is exactly what I have been needing, what has been missing from past endeavors. Like Diana I have a real problem with procrastination. I also have way too many distractions, living in a house where all my friends think it is a social club and stop by all the time. Now that I am not working a regular job it seems I have LESS free time than I did before. I have had the PCL course for a couple of weeks and have not had time to get into it. I am also building a house (with my own 2 hands, the source of my info product material) and need to take advantage of the good weather (and those friends who are told to put down those beers and pick up a tool). Well I suppose this all sounds like excuses to keep procrastinating but it is the opposite. The simplicity of Kevin’s teaching style will be a definite aid to my organizing my time and my life, treating the business as a business with regular business hours. Fundamental things like that will, I feel, be of utmost value in my overcoming past unproductive behavior and replacing it with the life I choose for myself.

  9. Claire Elliott says:

I can’t wait to start a Mini Money Factory project because it will break the inertia you talk about in Video 9 Kevin and build my confidence and skills.

  10. Adrian says:

Great video series! The best I’ve seen on this topic. Period.

    Love the no excuses thing!

    Sayonara!
